Pascal Wallisch studied Psychology at the Free University of Berlin before receiving his Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Chicago. He served as a research scientist at the Center for Neural Science of New York University before joining the faculty of the Department of Psychology at New York University where he is currently a Clinical Associate Professor. Pascal explores a wide range of research interests such as the neural basis of motion perception, the attentional impact of motion, the appraisal of complex perceptual stimuli as well as biological and cognitive markers of autism. He uses a diverse array of methods to study these phenomena, including psychophysics, neuroimaging, and electrophysiology. In addition, Pascal is keen on developing innovations in teaching as well as science outreach.
His work was recognized with a variety of honors, including the Wayne C. Booth Prize for Excellence in Teaching and the First Eagleman Prize; he also was a recipient of a German National Merit Scholarship.
