Jill is the founder and CEO of Playworks. Vialet has worked for more than 25 years in the nonprofit sector, during which she focused her entrepreneurial skills on conceiving and growing two successful nonprofit organizations. Vialet launched Playworks in 1996 with two schools in Berkeley, California. Currently, the organization brings play and physical activities to low-income, urban schools in 23 cities serving 320 low-income elementary schools daily. Prior to Playworks, Vialet founded the Museum of Children's Art (mocha) in Oakland, California. She served as the executive director at mocha for nine years, ultimately expanding its programs to reach 20,000 young people each year. Jill graduated from Harvard University where she studied medical sociology, played rugby, and became actively involved with Harvard's service-learning community. Jill is also a frequent public speaker, addressing a wide range of groups including TEDx San Francisco and TEDxABQ, Harvard, Stanford and UC Berkeley's Business Schools, the Partnership for a Healthier America, the Social Impact Exchange and the National Association of Elementary School Principals. In 2011 Jill was named to the Forbes Impact 30, recognizing leading social entrepreneurs.
