State of Creativity Forum to be held in Oklahoma City, November 19th

SYNOPSIS

Creative Oklahoma will host the annual State of Creativity Forum on Nov 19th in downtown Oklahoma City. Join an assortment of students and professionals as we “build bridges” between education, commerce and culture sectors to advance creative thinking and problem solving.

The State of Creativity Forum is one of the largest creativity and innovation conferences in the U.S. The event attracts a cross-sector audience of more than 1,200 from the arenas of education, culture and commerce each year. Attendees from across the country will converge on the Civic Center Music Hall in downtown Oklahoma City on Nov. 19 for a day of galvanizing workshops, moving artistic performances and inspirational talks by some of the globe’s most important creative minds.

Keynote speakers include the CEO of Hallmark Hall of Fame, Brad Moore; Peter Sims, entrepreneur and author of “Little Bets: How Breakthrough Ideas Emerge from Small Discoveries;” and Nancy Kanter, VP of Disney Junior Worldwide.

A number of international guests will be in attendance including Prof. Mathilde Mukantabana, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Republic of Rwanda, who will deliver a keynote presentation entitled “Milestones of Nation Building through Innovation and Creativity” at the State of Creativity Forum luncheon. London-based speaker Derek Brown, Managing Director of Actorshop Ltd, will also participate in the forum as a workshop presenter on “Creative Leadership or Management?”.

Pre- and Post-Forum workshops will be offered as part of Creative Oklahoma’s cSchool, or Creativity School, on Nov. 18th and 20th. A cadre of Oklahoma-based academicians and practitioners nationally renowned in creativity and innovation will lead these research-based trainings that provide actionable tools to build more creative schools, communities and workplaces.

The National Creativity Network (NCN), a network of creative regions in North America, will host meetings in Oklahoma City on Nov. 18th at the Downtown Library. The afternoon meeting is open to the public and features a panel discussion moderated by NCN President, Dennis Cheek. Panelists will discuss how can we optimize life and living for those in cities in North America, and minimize the many problems that have been identified with urban life in the 20th and 21st centuries.

What is Creative Oklahoma?
